# Dear Mexico,

An eagle on a cactus with a serpent in its beak: the sign your ancestors waited 
for before they founded Tenochtitlan. Essential health care scores 79 out of 100
on the World Health Organization index, and World Bank Group operations have helped
mobilise nearly $12 billion of private capital in your country.

Think of what you have already built. World Bank Group operations have helped mobilise

Bank approved a $500 million guarantee to draw private investment into infrastructure,
and in October 2026 $500 million to strengthen your resilience to disasters.

At home the record is just as real. Eighty-eight in every hundred of you cook with
clean fuel. Eighty-four in every hundred of you can always count on enough good 
food. Essential health care scores 79 out of 100 on the World Health Organization
index.

The work ahead is plain, and it is worth saying plainly. Only forty-three in every
hundred of you drink safely managed water at home. At the last count, in 2019, forty-
eight in every hundred of your children reached the end of primary school unable
to read a simple text. Only sixty-three in every hundred of you have a safely managed
toilet at home. Water sets your Coverage today, at 43 out of 100, with reading and
shelter close behind. Each of them is within your reach.

Now imagine that same resolve turned toward every home in the country. Picture Perfect
Mexico: a morning when every family cooks with clean fuel and sits down to a full
table; when every tap runs clean and every home has a safe toilet; when every child
walks to a school where a teacher is waiting, and reads with ease by the age of 
ten; when every mother lives within reach of a clinic with the lights on, and every
young person finds work that pays. And no Mexican falls below a decent life, because
the nation has decided that none will.

None of this needs a miracle. It needs what you already own: your sun, your coasts,
your factories, your border with the largest market on earth and a nation of extraordinary
talent. They are assets no balance sheet counts, and together they can carry every
Mexican to food, water, shelter, energy, education, health and a livelihood.
